Post-Surgery Rehab FAQs
Common Questions Answered
Do I need a physician referral for post-surgery rehabilitation?
No! Illinois is a direct access state, which means you can start physical therapy without a physician referral. However, we’re happy to coordinate with your surgeon and communicate your progress throughout your recovery.
What insurance do you accept for post-surgery rehab?
We’re in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and provide out-of-network reimbursement assistance for other insurance plans. We also offer self-pay options. Our front desk team will help verify your benefits and explain your coverage before you begin treatment.
How is your post-surgery rehabilitation different from other PT clinics?
Unlike most physical therapy clinics, we provide true one-on-one care—your physical therapist works with you individually for the entire treatment hour, not bouncing between multiple patients. We use advanced modalities like dry needling, cupping, manual PT, and Normatec compression. Plus, our continuum of care model means you can continue training with us even after PT ends.
What treatment modalities do you use for post-surgery recovery?
We utilize manual physical therapy, dry needling, cupping, soft tissue mobilization, joint manipulation, Normatec compression therapy, and sport-specific exercises. We also offer VALD performance testing for objective return to sport assessment and tendon health recovery sessions to optimize healing.
How long are post-surgery rehabilitation sessions?
Physical therapy sessions are one full hour of one-on-one treatment with your dedicated therapist. Personal training sessions are 50 minutes. This is significantly longer than most PT clinics and allows us to thoroughly address your specific post-surgical needs and goals each visit.
Can I continue training after my PT sessions end?
Absolutely! Our continuum of care model is one of our biggest differentiators. After completing your prescribed physical therapy, you can seamlessly transition to our sports performance training, strength & conditioning classes, personal training, or team training programs in our 5,000 square foot facility. We keep you strong and injury-free long-term.
