Sports Physical Therapy in Evergreen Park, IL
From injury to peak performance—one-on-one sports rehab and performance training that gets athletes back to the field stronger than before.
At Core Sport PT, we specialize in bridging the gap between injury and peak performance for athletes of all ages. It’s not enough to just get you out of pain—we’re committed to returning you to your sport stronger, faster, and more confident than pre-injury. Our 5,000 square foot sports performance facility combines cutting-edge physical therapy techniques with sport-specific strength and conditioning, so you get comprehensive care from injury through full recovery and beyond.
Don't Let Injury Keep You on the Sidelines
You’ve put in the work, trained hard, and built your skills—but an injury has stopped your progress. Traditional physical therapy gets you “better,” but not back to the level you need to compete and perform at your best. You’re worried about re-injury, losing your edge, or falling behind while you recover.
Stuck in Pain and Frustrated
That ankle sprain, back pain, or post-surgical recovery is taking longer than expected, and generic exercises aren’t addressing what you really need as an athlete.
Afraid of Re-Injury
You’re cleared to play, but you don’t feel confident or strong enough to perform at full intensity without risking another setback.
Missing Critical Training Time
Every day away from your sport means lost conditioning, strength, and skills—putting you behind teammates and competitors who keep advancing.
One-on-One Sports Rehab That Returns You Stronger
Core Sport PT is built for athletes who refuse to settle for average recovery. Our continuum of care model means you get individualized one-on-one physical therapy combined with sport-specific performance training—all under one roof in our 5,000 square foot facility. We use cutting-edge techniques, functional movement patterns, and progressive strength and conditioning to help you build resilience, prevent future injuries, and return to your sport at peak performance.
Led by co-owners Diane Fidler, MPT and Bobby Waddell, DPT, Core Sport brings together decades of expertise in rehabilitation and athletic development. Bobby grew up on Chicago’s South Side, suffered his own sports injuries in college, and understands firsthand the importance of getting athletes back to doing what they love—better than before.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about sports physical therapy at Core Sport? Here are answers to the most common questions we hear from athletes and parents.
Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
In many cases, no referral is needed to begin physical therapy in Illinois. However, insurance requirements vary. Call us at (773) 941-6132 and we’ll help you understand your specific insurance benefits. We’re in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and have good reimbursement rates with various other insurance providers.
What happens during my first visit?
Your initial evaluation is a comprehensive 60-minute assessment where we review your injury history, analyze your movement patterns, test your strength and flexibility, and discuss your sport-specific goals. We’ll create a personalized treatment plan on the spot and often begin treatment during your first session.
How is Core Sport different from traditional physical therapy?
Core Sport specializes exclusively in sports rehabilitation and performance training. Our 5,000 square foot facility feels more like a gym than a typical PT clinic, and we focus on getting athletes not just out of pain, but back to peak performance. We offer a continuum of care—from one-on-one PT through strength and conditioning—so you can seamlessly transition from rehab to performance training without missing a beat.
Can I continue training while doing physical therapy?
Absolutely! We believe in keeping you as active as possible throughout your recovery. We’ll work with you to modify your training as needed while addressing your injury, so you maintain conditioning and don’t lose valuable time away from your sport.
What sports do you specialize in?
We work with athletes from all sports including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, cross country, track and field, football, dance, cheerleading, volleyball, golf, and more. Our team includes former collegiate athletes and coaches who understand the specific demands of different sports and can tailor your rehab accordingly.
What’s the difference between physical therapy and your performance training programs?
Physical therapy focuses on rehabilitation from injury using clinical techniques, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise. Once you’ve recovered, our performance training programs help you maintain your gains and continue building strength, speed, agility, and sport-specific skills with our certified strength and conditioning coaches. Many athletes start in PT and then transition to performance training to prevent future injuries and reach peak performance.
At Core Sport, we specialize in one-on-one rehabilitation, helping athletes bridge the gap between injury and peak performance. Please call us to learn more about our physical therapy and sports performance services.
